BREAKING: FG to backdate minimum wage implementation to July 29

A breakthrough has been reached regarding Nigeria’s minimum wage increase.

The Committee on Consequential Adjustments in Salaries agreed to implement the new minimum wage of ₦70,000 (up from ₦30,000) starting July 29, 2024.

This decision was outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding following the committee’s meeting in Abuja.

The 16-member committee aims to ensure seamless implementation of the National Minimum Wage Act 2024.
