In a tragic incident in the Federal Capital Territory, Arogundade Gbenga, a 44-year-old house agent known as Baba Ibeji, was fatally stabbed during a dispute over a N1,000 house rent inspection fee.

The altercation occurred on Friday at approximately 10 a.m. in Byazhin Across, Kubwa, within the Bwari Local Government Area.

The confrontation began when Gbenga allegedly slapped Ogbuabo Chibugo, a fellow agent who also operates a chemist in the area.

In retaliation, Chibugo drew a knife and stabbed Gbenga, who was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

His body has been deposited in the hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Following the incident, Chibugo fled to avoid backlash from enraged residents but was later apprehended by the police at a nearby hideout.

The FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that an investigation is underway and that the suspect has been detained.

The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry.
