In this post, News360 Nigeria will enlighten you on how to remove a private number from your phone.

A private number is a phone number that does not appear on the recipient’s caller ID when you make a call.

Instead of showing your phone number, it displays “Private Number” or “Unknown Number.” This feature is often used to protect the caller’s privacy.

Private numbers can be very frustrating because it seems like the people on the other end are just talking to themselves, much like shadows.

The telecom companies occasionally utilize these numbers to make it difficult for customers to track them down.

Scammers have taken advantage of this opportunity over time to further their own agendas and line their own wallets by tricking people out of large sums of money and other cyber vices.

Here’s a quick tip on how to both reveal your hidden caller ID and keep your own hidden from the person receiving it;

Simply dial #31#the number you intend to call. E.g #31#023547832

To identify the caller who is hidden from you;

Simply ensure that your network connection is secure and reliable.

From the Google Play Store, download and install the Truecaller app.

Simply keep your connectivity on when someone calls you from a private number, and Truecaller will look up their identity and show it on your phone screen.

How to remove the private number from your phone;

Open your phone, click on the “phone” icon which contains your call log
Click the “setting” option that has three vertical dotted lines on it.

Click options and then “calling accounts” after setting up.

Two of your Sims are displayed in another option. To disable the private number, click on your preferred SIM card.

You will see another menu labeled “additional settings” after clicking on the sim.

Find “caller ID” and click on it in the additional settings.

Lastly, find “Network default” or “Show number” and click on it.
