Nigeria will be better under Tinubu, says Betta Edu

Betta Edu, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has voiced her continued support for President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in his leadership as Nigeria faces ongoing challenges.

Edu’s statement comes despite her suspension on January 8 following the issuance of a controversial memo that requested the transfer of N585 million to a private account. The incident prompted Tinubu to instruct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the ministry’s financial transactions.

Speaking during her 38th birthday celebration in Abuja on Sunday, Edu shared her optimism that Nigeria, while currently enduring a difficult period, is on the path to recovery and resilience.

“I want to thank God for all of you. Thank you for standing by me and supporting Nigerian youths,” she said.

She continued, “I would use this opportunity to pray for our dear country, and I am confident that Nigeria will be better. I am confident that indeed the hopes of Nigerians will be renewed.”

Edu expressed her faith in Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “I am confident that God will give the president, our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the wisdom to manage this country. And I am confident that things will change for the better.”
