Profile of Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi, new BPE Director General

In this post, News360 Nigeria enlists all you should know about Mr. Ayodeji Gbeleyi, new DG of Bereau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi has been appointed as the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) by President Bola Tinubu in June, 2024.

Here’s what to know about him;

Mr. Gbeleyi is an accomplished chartered accountant and well-known financial expert.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) as well as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

He completed executive programs at the esteemed Lagos Business School, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and London Business School.

He has worked in a variety of industries for more than 30 years after receiving his degree, including manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), project finance, investment & commercial banking, infrastructure, telecommunications, and public administration.

He presided over the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) board from 2013 to 2015 in addition to his role as Lagos State’s Commissioner of Finance.

He is from the Nigerian Yoruba tribe and is married with children.
