Residents of Ijabe in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State were thrown into panic when a petrol tanker carrying 33,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) burst into flames on a major highway connecting Osun and Kwara States.
The incident, which occurred on the busy route, resulted in a massive gridlock as stranded travelers were forced to turn back. According to a local resident, Jamiu Opeyemi, the fire created chaos, disrupting movement and spreading fear among the community.
Confirming the incident, Kehinde Adeleke, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State, stated that the cause of the fire was yet to be determined.
