Man murders wife over yam dispute in Ebonyi
A 40-year-old man, Joshua Nwafor, has been accused of killing his wife, Charity, in Nsokkara, Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, following a domestic disagreement over a tuber of yam.
The couple, who had been married for 17 years, were reportedly living peacefully until the tragic incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began when Joshua brought out yam to prepare a meal for the family, but his wife, Charity, insisted on roasting the tuber instead.
The disagreement escalated when Joshua grew angry, forcibly dragged his wife into their room, locked the door, and violently beat her.
Tragically, Charity succumbed to the injuries inflicted during the attack.
The community is still in shock over the brutal incident, as both parties had previously been known to have a peaceful relationship.
