BREAKING: Reps to slash salaries by 50% as show of solidarity to Nigerians

On Thursday, the House of Representatives resolved to allocate N648 million to support the Federal Government over six months by reducing their salaries by 50%.

This initiative aims to enhance food sufficiency nationwide and alleviate the high cost of food.

Additionally, lawmakers appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration of President Ahmed Tinubu as it addresses the challenges and hardships faced by citizens.

The House further mandated it’s Committee on Appropriation, Humanitarian Affairs, Finance and Budget to ensure compliance.

The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion moved on the floor of the House by Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka (APC- Ogun State) during plenary in Abuja.
