BREAKING: Edo deputy gov, Philip Shaibu dumps PDP for APC

Philip Shaibu, the recently reinstated deputy governor of Edo State, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shaibu was warmly welcomed by APC members on Saturday.

His reinstatement came after an Abuja court, led by Justice J. K. Omotosho, overturned his impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly.

In an interview with TVC News on Friday, Shaibu shared that while he had not yet formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he had already aligned himself with the APC.

Shaibu remarked, “My spirit has left PDP for a long time; it is only my leg and body that are still there because my PDP party card is still with me and I have not picked an APC party card yet. But in terms of spirit, my spirit has left PDP and is now in APC.”
