Wike must be expelled for PDP to survive – Clark writes Damagun

Chief Edwin Clark, a prominent South-South leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information, has urged the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Iliya Damagun, to expel Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCTA), from the party.

Clark made this call in an open letter, which he read during a press briefing at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja, on Tuesday.

In his letter, Clark accused Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, of using his influence and close relationship with President Bola Tinubu to intimidate the current Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and undermine the PDP. He expressed concern over Wike’s actions and warned that if the PDP leadership fails to act, it could have severe consequences for the party and those involved.

As the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), Clark emphasized his long-standing experience in politics, stating that he was already an established politician before Wike was born.

Clark who disclosed that he was writing a book titled, “PDP: to be or no to be,” said that after criticizing former Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi) and Ben Ayade (Cross River) for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wike is now “dancing naked” with the same ruling party.

“After conceding that former Rivers State governor, Peter Odili and his wife made him what he is today and will forever remain grateful to them, he is now abusing them. I won’t allow him to destroy Rivers State,” Clark declared.
He alleged that having failed to use the APC to disrupt the PDP, Wike is now using the party against itself.”
