APC sweeps Kaduna LG polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in all 23 chairmanship and 255 councillorship positions in the local government elections held on Saturday across Kaduna State.

Hajara Mohammed, the chairperson of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), announced the results, noting that eight political parties participated in the elections. The APC secured wins in local governments including Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Igabi, Ikara, Jaba, Jema’a, and others, covering the entire state.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the elections, stating that the process was largely free and fair with only minor issues reported in a few polling units. He also praised the voter turnout across the 23 local government areas.

Additionally, the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) Kaduna chapter commended the election process as peaceful and transparent, despite some delays in the delivery of voting materials in certain areas.
