The order comes in response to a viral video circulating online that captures a heated argument between the civilian, an officer, and two soldiers, which reportedly escalated into physical assault.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Lt. General Oluyede emphasized the Nigerian Army’s commitment to upholding human rights and maintaining professional standards among its ranks.

He assured the public that the incident would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions taken against anyone found culpable.

The video, which has sparked widespread outrage on social media, has raised concerns about the conduct of military personnel and the need for accountability.
