In a thrilling Champions League encounter at Villa Park, Jhon Duran once again proved his worth as Aston Villa secured a memorable victory over Bayern Munich.

The match, steeped in history as a rematch of Villa’s 1982 European Cup triumph, ended with a scoreline reminiscent of that iconic final.

Duran, brought on as a substitute in the 70th minute for Ollie Watkins, made an instant impact. Nine minutes later, the 20-year-old striker coolly chipped the ball over Bayern’s legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, sealing Villa’s victory with his fifth goal of the season as a substitute.

Villa Park was electric, hosting its first Champions League match in 41 years. Though Pau Torres had an early goal ruled out for offside by VAR, Villa’s relentless performance, led by manager Unai Emery, ensured their winning start to the campaign after a 3-0 victory against Young Boys in Switzerland.

In a tense final moment, Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez denied Bayern striker Harry Kane with a spectacular injury-time save, preserving the victory and sending the Villa fans into wild celebration.
