Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed mourns as stepmother passes away

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has announced the death of his stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, who passed away on January 1, 2025, at the remarkable age of 120.

In a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hajia Duguri was praised for her selflessness, piety, and significant contributions to her community. The governor expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing her enduring legacy of compassion and service to others.

Gidado described her passing as marking “the end of an era defined by selflessness, piety, and unwavering dedication to community service.”

The Janazah (funeral prayer) for Hajia Duguri is set for 4:00 p.m. at Dr. Rilwan Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi.

“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and bestow strength upon her family to bear this profound loss,” the governor said.
