Birth

Oluremi was born in Ogun State, Nigeria on September 21st 1960.

Education

After completing her studies at Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School in Ijebu-Ode, Oluremi went on to earn her postgraduate diploma (PGD) from The Redeemed Christian Bible College in 2010 and her West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam (WASSCE) in 1979.

She earned a National Certificate of Education in Botany and Zoology from the Adeyemi College of Education as well as a degree in Education from the University of Ife, which is now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Career

She worked as a classroom teacher prior to getting involved in politics.

Between 1999 and 2007, when her husband, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was Lagos State Governor, she assumed the title of First Lady of Lagos State.

She established The New Era Foundation at that time with the express purpose of assisting underprivileged women, girls, and children.

She served her constituency with diligence after being elected to the National Assembly in 2011.

In 2021, she presented a bill that would reform the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

In addition, Senator Oluremi founded the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) and served as its Grand Matron.

Private life

Senator Oluremi Tinubu is married to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President of Nigerian and together they have children.

In addition, she serves as a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
