BREAKING: Again, gunmen attack APP Secretariat in Rivers, open fire on security guard

Gunmen have reportedly shot a security guard stationed at the Action People Party (APP) secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The attack, which occurred around midnight, marks the second violent incident at the party’s secretariat in less than a month, following a bombing that took place at the same location in the New GRA area.

Sunny Wokekoro, the state chairman of the APP, addressed journalists on Wednesday, expressing concern over the recurring violence targeting the party. He confirmed that the injured security guard is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

Despite the presence of police officers who were deployed after the previous bombing, Wokekoro noted that the police have yet to brief the party on the latest attack or make any headway in identifying the culprits behind either incident.

Wokekoro led journalists to the hospital where the wounded guard is being treated, but hospital staff refused to allow any interaction with the victim.

Despite these ongoing threats, the APP chairman emphasized that the party remains undeterred and will continue its political activities, including participation in the upcoming local government elections next month.
