BREAKING: Court fines Multichoice, directs issuance of one month free DSTV, GoTV subscription to customers

A court has fined Multichoice Nigeria N150 million and ordered it to provide DSTV and GoTV subscribers a one-month free service to customers.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal has ordered Multichoice Nigeria to provide users to its DStv and GOtv platforms with a one-month free service.

Additionally, the tribunal imposed a N150 million fine on Multichoice for contesting the court’s jurisdiction after it had recently barred the company from increasing the prices of its subscription packages.

The rulings were delivered on Friday, 7th June, by a three-man panel led by Justice Thomas Okosu.
