BREAKING: Fire engulfs FIIRO office in Lagos

A devastating fire has engulfed the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, close to the Cappa Bus Stop.  

The blaze, which reportedly began around midnight on Christmas Day, continued to rage into the early hours of Boxing Day.

As of 4 a.m., emergency responders, including personnel from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), were still working tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

While no casualties have been reported, the fire has caused extensive damage, with property worth millions of naira reduced to ashes.

Rescue operations remain ongoing as authorities assess the extent of the destruction.

Efforts are underway to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining offices and buildings.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of filing this report.
