Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman has been named among the final nominees for the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year, marking the first time the Atalanta forward has reached this stage of the prestigious awards.

Lookman’s stellar performances for both club and country over the past year have earned him this recognition.

The 27-year-old showcased his talents during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, scoring three goals and providing one assist in seven matches for the Super Eagles.

On the club front, Lookman made history with Atalanta by netting a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final, a feat that solidified his reputation as a key player.

This season, he has continued his impressive form, contributing 11 goals and five assists in 18 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A side.

Lookman will face stiff competition for the award, going up against Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Ronwen Williams.

The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards ceremony, celebrating the finest in African football.
