Cross River Tourism commissioner Robert Ewa passes on

The government and people of Cross River State are grieving the sudden demise of Abubakar Robert Ewa, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

Ewa, a seasoned administrator and passionate public servant, passed away at the age of 61.

Until his death, Ewa played a pivotal role in the state’s executive council, championing efforts to showcase Cross River’s rich tourism and cultural heritage.

His dedication was evident during his final public engagement at the Arts and Crafts Village of the Cultural Center in Calabar, where he interacted with traders and stakeholders.

Ewa’s career was marked by significant contributions, including his service as Secretary and Chairman of Boki Local Government Council, Special Adviser on Community Relations, and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force.

His work left an indelible mark on the development of Cross River State.

The state government, alongside members of the executive council, has extended heartfelt condolences to his family and paid respects at the hospital where he passed away.
