EFCC operative kills self in Abuja apartment

An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly committed suicide at his residence in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The incident took place on Monday and involved a member of Course 5, who was renowned for his unassuming nature, efficiency, and diligence.

According to PR Nigeria, the EFCC is investigating potential factors such as mental health issues and family challenges that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and subsequent suicide.

When contacted, EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide. The Commission has not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
