EPL: I’m not happy with Everton, Liverpool postponement’, says Seamus Coleman

Everton captain Seamus Coleman has voiced his frustration over the postponement of the highly anticipated Merseyside derby against Liverpool, which was scheduled to take place last weekend at Goodison Park.

The match was called off due to the severe rainstorm known as Storm Darragh, delaying what would have been the final derby at the historic Goodison Park until 2025.

Speaking with the club’s official website, Coleman shared that the team had been eagerly preparing for the fixture.

“The lads were looking forward to it. It’s always a big occasion, and to see it postponed is disappointing,” he stated.

Fans and players alike will now have to wait for what promises to be a memorable farewell to Goodison Park in this historic rivalry.

“It was disappointing,” he said this week.

“We don’t know how the result would have went, but the little things like Liverpool dropping points midweek, us getting that win that we needed, kind of changed the tone going into the game a little bit.

“We were all looking forward to it and we were ready for it – the last Goodison derby.

“Disappointing…it happens. We’ve got to move onto Arsenal now. We’ve had to change the schedule a little bit – I’m sure we’ll train a little bit harder today as well. It’s part and parcel of it.”
