Former ADC to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Moses Jituboh, dies at 54
Moses Ambakina Jituboh, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54.
He died on Friday after a brief illness, according to sources close to the family.
A family representative confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, your information is correct. I can confirm that he (Moses Jituboh) is dead. Efforts are currently ongoing to carry out an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.”
Jituboh, a retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, served as Jonathan’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) during his tenure as Bayelsa State Governor and later as Vice President.
He remained a trusted member of Jonathan’s security team until the latter assumed the presidency in 2010.
Following Jonathan’s electoral defeat in 2015, Jituboh returned to his duties within the Nigeria Police Force.
The Zone 16 Police Command also confirmed Jituboh’s passing, describing his death as a significant loss to Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, Emonena Gunn, highlighted Jituboh’s contributions to the police force and his dedication to service.
“Before his retirement in 2023, he served as DIG in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and the Department of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters.”
Gunn expressed condolences to Jituboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa State, saying, “It is our prayer that God will give the immediate family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss of your beloved son.”
Jituboh’s legacy as a dedicated public servant and security expert is remembered by many across the nation.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
