Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reaffirmed his unwavering faith in God to dismantle the plans of adversaries against the state and its people.

Speaking during a crossover service into 2025 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Opobo Town, in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, the governor led the congregation in a heartfelt worship song: “At the mention of your name, every knee shall bow; at the mention of your name, every tongue confesses that you are Lord, you are King.”

Fubara emphasized that the lyrics were not only consoling but a call for trust in God as the ultimate guide to triumph in the New Year. “The Red Biro is still filled. It is still here with me. Every enemy plan will continue to crash,” the governor declared while wishing the people a prosperous New Year.

The service, officiated by Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta, reflected on the challenges of 2024, including conspiracies, blackmail, and economic hardships. Oko-Jaja reminded attendees of God’s faithfulness, urging them to embrace the New Year with gratitude and trust in divine provision for continued victory.

The bishop prayed for peace, unity, progress, and the realization of Rivers State’s 2025 Budget of Inclusive Growth and Development, aligning the state’s goals with divine guidance.

Key attendees at the service included Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Victor Oko-Jumbo, Chief of Staff Dr. Edison Ehie, members of the National Assembly, traditional ruler King Dandeson Jaja, and other dignitaries such as Senator Adawari Pepple and former Inspector-General of Police Mike Okiro.

The service, marked by praise, worship, and choir ministration, ushered in the New Year with shouts of “Happy New Year” as the clock struck midnight.
