Gov Abba Yusuf makes fresh appointments

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has announced new appointments aimed at enhancing his administration’s commitment to effective governance.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were disclosed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Ahmad Muhammad has been named Special Adviser on Publicity. Muhammad, a seasoned administrator, previously served three terms as Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government and as the former APC State Organizing Secretary.

Engr. Ahmad was appointed Special Adviser on Works, signaling the administration’s commitment to advancing infrastructure development.

Sani Abdullahi Tofa will serve as Special Adviser on Special Duties. Tofa’s extensive experience includes serving as a Khadi in Kano and Abuja, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil Service, and Director General of the Kano State Shari’a Commission.

Other appointees include Hon. Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge as Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission and Hajia Ladidi Ibrahim Garko as Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission. Both were former Commissioners of Finance and Tourism, respectively.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Ante-Chamber of the Kano Government House.

It will also feature the inauguration of seven newly screened commissioner nominees and all appointed Special Advisers.
