Gov Bala Mohammed reappoints three sacked commissioners as SAs

Less than 48 hours after their dismissal, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reappointed three of his former commissioners to serve as special advisers.

The appointments were announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by Mukhtar Gidado, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. The statement described the move as part of the governor’s strategy to ensure “effective leadership, inclusivity, and the attainment of his administration’s developmental goals.”

The reappointed officials include:

Abdulhameed Bununu, former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, now Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration.

Usman Danturaki, former Commissioner for Information and Communication, now Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme.

Madugu Yalams, former Commissioner for Agriculture, now Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.

The statement added, “Governor Mohammed urges the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields to contribute significantly towards the attainment of the Governor’s vision for Bauchi State.

“He calls on them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.”

Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of Bauchi State.

Early on Tuesday, Mohammed reshuffled his cabinet and sacked five commissioners.

He said the reshuffling is to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of the state.
