Gov Okpebholo names Bankole-Balogun as EIRS boss

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has appointed Hon. (Barr.) Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Inland Revenue Service (EIRS).

The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor Esq., who highlighted Bankole-Balogun’s impressive credentials and rich heritage.

Born in 1961 into the prominent Bankole-Balogun family of Igarra, Akoko-Edo, Edo State, Oladele Bankole-Balogun holds a B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Ibadan (1984), an LLB from the University of London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, Store Street, London.

“He is a member, Law Society of England and Wales, Nigeria Bar Association; International Bar Association and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

“Professionally, Hon. Bankole-Balogun has worked in different spheres of human endeavours. At various times, he worked at Cadbury Nigeria Plc (1985-1989); Pfizer UK Sandwich Kent (1989-1994); Alphabet Group UK; Chairman Alphabet House Ltd; Director/Board Member, Allen Angus Resources Ltd; Chairman, Barking and Havering Hospital trust Appointments Board; Principal Partner, Oladele Bankole-Balogun & Co.; Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (2012-2015) representing Edo State.

“On the political sphere, Hon. Bankole-Balogun was at various times, an aspirant and candidate for the House of Representatives Elections in Akoko Edo Federal Constituency and was recently a Member of APC Campaign Council for 2024 Governorship elections in Edo State. “

The statement announced other members into the board which are Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (representing Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (representing Edo North) and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (representing Edo South).
