Gunmen kill two check-point policemen in Imo

On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen shot and kill two police officers in Imo state.

According to reports, the gunmen approached a team of police officers on duty in Akabo, Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state, and opened fire.

According to a community source, the incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. He added that a civilian was also shot during the incident but did not die instantly.

“The policemen were on checkpoint when the gunmen attacked them. Two laid dead and another man was also shot.

“It happened few minutes past 6AM”, the source said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, was yet to respond to inquiry as at the time of filing this report.
