I don’t regret removing subsidy on PMS – Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his firm decision to remove the fuel subsidy, stating he has no regrets about the move.
Speaking during his maiden presidential media chat on Monday evening, Tinubu emphasized that the subsidy was economically unsustainable and primarily benefited nations beyond Nigeria.
“I don’t have any regrets removing fuel subsidy,” Tinubu declared.
“We can’t be subsidizing the entire West Africa sub-region. Either we slice it in half or bits, we still have to completely remove it.”
The President acknowledged the financial strain on Nigerians but maintained that the decision was necessary for long-term economic stability.
More to come.
