Igbo-Jah: Enugu police releases photo of officer who allegedly killed popular Okene musician

The Enugu State Police Command has released images of Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, the officer allegedly responsible for the death of Okezie Chikezie Mba, known in the music scene as Igbo-Jah.

The musician, recognized for his contributions to traditional Ogene music, was reportedly shot on October 25 after leaving the Squad’s Headquarters in Enugu.

According to police reports, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

However, it is confirmed that Inspector Joseph discharged his weapon, fatally injuring Igbo-Jah, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe noted that the musician’s body has been placed in the mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy to further investigate the incident.

Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation, with additional statements expected to address the actions leading up to the tragic incident.
