IGP presents N19m to families of six slain police officers

The families of six deceased police officers in Kogi State have received a cheque of more than nineteen million, or N19,150,477.87k, from Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, accepted the checks on behalf of the IGP in Lokoja, according to a statement released on Tuesday by SP William Ovye Aya, the public relations officer for the Kogi State Police.

According to the statement, the gesture is part of the Group Life Assurance Scheme aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased Police Officers.

The statement while quoting the Commissioner of Police appreciated the IGP’s efforts in reducing the hardship faced by families of the fallen heroes.

The statement urged the beneficiaries to make use of the money for the betterment of their families.
