Kannywood actor El-Mu’az Muhammad is dead
The Kannywood industry is in mourning following the unexpected death of renowned Hausa singer and actor, El-Mu’az Muhammad Birniwa.
The tragic news was confirmed by Abba El-Mustapha, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, via a Facebook post early Thursday, December 5, 2024.
El-Mu’az reportedly collapsed while playing football in Kaduna on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His funeral prayer is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Zangon Daura mosque in Kaduna.
Born in Birniwa, Jigawa State, El-Mu’az was celebrated for his immense contributions to Kannywood, particularly in promoting Hausa culture through music and film. His artistry and dedication earned him a special place in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike. His passing marks a significant loss to the entertainment industry and his community.
