Ligue 1: Monaco’s Balogun sidelined for three months with shoulder injury
American international Folarin Balogun is set to miss three months of action due to a shoulder injury, Monaco coach Adi Hütter confirmed on Friday.
“Folarin will undergo surgery in the next few days and will be out for around three months,” Hütter stated during a press conference.
The 23-year-old forward initially dislocated the glenohumeral joint in his left shoulder in early October but made a brief return to play two matches before being sidelined again.
He missed Monaco’s recent fixtures against Toulouse and Arsenal.
Balogun, who joined Monaco in August 2023 after a standout loan spell at Reims, has made 10 appearances this season, scoring three goals across all competitions.
A product of Arsenal’s academy, Balogun’s absence will be a significant blow to Monaco’s attacking lineup as they navigate a challenging season.
In Ligue 1, he boasts a record of 31 goals and nine assists in 73 outings for both Monaco and Reims.
