Newcastle United and Liverpool played out a captivating 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park, a match filled with twists and turns until the very end.

The home side took the lead in the 35th minute when Alexander Isak capitalized on a brilliant assist from Bruno Guimarães, sending the Newcastle faithful into raptures.

The Magpies carried their advantage into halftime, with Liverpool struggling to find their stride in the opening 45 minutes.

The second half, however, saw a transformed Liverpool side. Curtis Jones brought the visitors level in the 50th minute, finishing expertly after Mohamed Salah’s clever play.

But Newcastle responded swiftly, with Anthony Gordon restoring their lead in the 62nd minute off a precise setup by Isak.

Liverpool’s resilience came to the fore as Mohamed Salah produced a stellar performance.

The Egyptian forward equalised in the 68th minute, courtesy of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s assist. The pair linked up again in the 83rd minute, with Salah scoring his second of the night to put Liverpool 3-2 ahead.

However, the drama wasn’t over. Newcastle found a late equaliser in stoppage time, ensuring both teams shared the spoils in a thrilling encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

This draw leaves Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, maintaining their unbeaten run, while Newcastle displayed their ability to compete against the league’s best.

The drama was far from over. Deep into stoppage time, Fabian Schär salvaged a point for Newcastle, finishing another assist from Guimarães in the 90th minute.

Despite a late yellow card for Newcastle’s goalkeeper Nick Pope, the match ended in a well-earned 3-3 draw.

The match was not without controversy and tension. A flurry of yellow cards was issued, with notable bookings for Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold and Darwin Núñez, as well as Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali.
