Napoli strips Osimhen of No. 9 Shirt, assigns it to Lukaku amid failed Chelsea move

Napoli has made a bold move by stripping Victor Osimhen of his No. 9 shirt, assigning it instead to Romelu Lukaku, who was signed to replace the Nigerian striker.

This decision follows the collapse of Osimhen’s anticipated transfer to Chelsea.

In a further sign of discontent, Napoli has reportedly removed Osimhen from their official Serie A squad, leaving his future with the club uncertain.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “Victor Osimhen has been excluded by Napoli’s Serie A squad list… and also number 9 will NO longer be on his shirt.

Napoli have decided to give number 9 to Romelu Lukaku with immediate effect.”
