Nigeria Customs Service opens recruitment portal for 2025 (How To Apply)
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise, seeking to fill 3,927 positions across the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.
The application process began on Friday, December 27, 2024, and will run until January 2, 2025.
This recruitment drive follows the approval granted by the NCS to strengthen its workforce as part of efforts to enhance trade facilitation and contribute to Nigeria’s economic recovery.
Eligibility Requirements
The NCS outlined the following academic qualifications for the respective cadres:
1. Superintendent Cadre: Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
2. Inspectorate Cadre: National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
3. Customs Assistant Cadre: O’Level results (WAEC or NECO).
Additionally, applicants must be physically and mentally fit, supported by a medical fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital.
Recruitment Process Warning
The NCS cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to scams, emphasizing that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge.
“Our recruitment process is completely FREE and FAIR. We DO NOT charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. If anyone demands payment, they are scammers,” the NCS stated.

The recruitment announcement was made during the NCS’s 61st quarterly board meeting held on December 18, 2024, in Abuja.
This decision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2025 “Budget of Restoration,” which sets ambitious expenditure and revenue targets for national economic revitalization.
Candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, as the application window is open for just one week.
