NPFL: Armed robbers launch attack on El-Kanemi warriors

Players and officials of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club El-Kanemi Warriors were attacked by armed robbers along the Jos-Bauchi road on Saturday morning.  

The team was en route to Maiduguri after a 2-0 loss to Ikorodu City in a matchday 14 fixture on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that the robbers left several players and officials injured and stole valuables, including phones and cash.

The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Bauchi.

El-Kanemi Warriors were scheduled to host Bayelsa United in Maiduguri on Sunday, but the fixture is now likely to be postponed by the NPFL following the tragic incident.
