Police rearrest controversial singer, Speed Darlington
Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, has reportedly been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Owerri, Imo State.
The news of his arrest was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday morning.
While details surrounding the incident remain scarce, Adeyanju’s confirmation has sparked widespread speculation among fans and followers.
Further updates regarding the circumstances of Speed Darlington’s arrest and his current status are anticipated.
He wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
He added that his arrest occurred during his return to Nigeria for a show.
The reasons for Darlington’s arrest remained unclear at the time of filing this report.
Recall that Speed Darlington was arrested on October 4 by the Nigerian police for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy.
He was, however, released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention.
