Popular Nollywood actress, Sharon reportedly dies after child birth

The Nigerian film industry is in mourning following the passing of Nollywood actress and producer Sharon Okpamen. 

The talented actress died on Sunday, nearly a month after giving birth to her second child.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her colleague, Stanley Ontop, who took to Instagram on Saturday, August 24, 2024, to share the sad update with fans and friends.

Ontop wrote: “Nollywood Actor and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on.

“It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur & humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry.

“May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen @sharonokpamen.”

On July 31, Sharon announced the birth of her second child on her Facebook page.

She reportedly went into a coma after the childbirth and eventually died.
