Reps confirms Lieutenant-General Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff

The House of Representatives, on Thursday, officially confirmed Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede as the substantive Chief of Army Staff.

This confirmation followed Oluyede’s screening on Wednesday by the Joint Committees on Defence and Army, chaired by Babajimi Benson. During Thursday’s plenary, Benson presented the committee’s report, recommending Oluyede’s approval.

The Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, presided over the session, and the House unanimously granted the confirmation.
