Super Eagles retain 44th spot in latest FIFA rankings
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have maintained their position as the 44th-ranked team in the latest FIFA men’s rankings, released on Thursday via FIFA’s official website.
Augustine Eguavoen’s team also held onto their fifth-place ranking in Africa, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
This position comes after the team’s drop of eight places in November’s rankings. Despite the setback, the Super Eagles continue to assert their presence in the competitive African football landscape.
Globally, reigning world champions Argentina retained the top spot, followed by France in second place. Spain moved up to third, while England and Brazil claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
This ranking highlights the challenges ahead for the Super Eagles as they aim to climb both the African and global football ladders.
