Tension in Enugu community as mother, daughter, two others die while sleeping

A wave of fear and apprehension has gripped the Amaeze Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State following the mysterious deaths of a woman, her daughter, and two others.

The tragic incident, which occurred on September 1, 2024, has left the entire community in deep mourning.

Reports indicate that the four victims, after having their meals the previous night, went to bed and tragically died in their sleep. The cause of the deaths remains unclear, sparking concerns and speculation among the residents.

The traditional ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Felix Ugwu, confirmed the incident and expressed the community’s profound shock. According to Igwe Ugwu, one of the victims, identified as Mama Chijioke Amaeze, had been caring for her ailing mother at her home before the tragic event. The mysterious deaths claimed the lives of Mama Chijioke, her mother, her sister, and her daughter.

In response to the incident, operatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Nsukka Police Division, have transported the victims to the hospital for autopsy and further investigation. However, the community has also decided to seek spiritual guidance to uncover the cause of this tragic event.

“My community has been restless since this incident happened. We have not witnessed anything like this since the history of this community. We are making efforts to determine what could have led to this tragedy,” the royal father said.
