Nigerian sprint sensation Tobi Amusan fell short of reaching the finals in the Women’s 100m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Amusan finished third in her semi-final heat, clocking a time of 12.55 seconds, which was not fast enough to secure a spot in the finals as one of the fastest losers.

This outcome is a significant setback for Nigeria, as Amusan was a key medal hopeful following her outstanding performances in previous competitions. Her ninth-place finish overall dashed the nation’s aspirations for a podium finish in this event.

The semi-finals of the Women’s 110m hurdles were highly competitive, with a mere 0.01-second difference between the top two finishers. American Kendra Johnson claimed victory with a time of 12.34 seconds, closely followed by Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the defending Olympic champion, who finished in 12.35 seconds.
