UCL: Dembélé excluded from PSG’s squad ahead of Arsenal clash

Ousmane Dembélé has been omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s lineup for their upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

French outlet L’Equipe reported that PSG head coach Luis Enrique made the decision to leave the 27-year-old forward out, although it is not due to any injury.

This season, Dembélé has been PSG’s most influential player, tallying four goals and three assists in Ligue 1—more than any of his teammates.

His absence will require Luis Enrique to adjust his game plan for this critical Group Stage encounter. The French international, who has 51 caps and six goals for his national team, has played a vital role in PSG’s attacking strategy this season.

However, the team will welcome back Vitinha, who missed Friday’s 3-1 win over Rennes due to illness.

Dembele played a key role in that match, providing an assist for Bradley Barcola’s opening goal before being substituted in the 82nd minute. Luis Enrique has consistently praised the former Barcelona star’s form this season, especially after his double against Brest, stating that the forward is “happy and more confident.”

With PSG set to face a strong Arsenal side, Luis Enrique will need to reconfigure his attack, with Bradley Barcola emerging as a potential key figure in Dembele absence.
