In the annals of any democratic institution, the sanctity of due process remains sacrosanct, serving as the lifeblood of credibility and unity. Yet, in the forthcoming NUJ Council elections, a peculiar and desperate alliance has emerged, seeking to sully the waters of this hallowed process.

Reports reaching us suggest that on Tuesday a certain Mr. Ifeanyi, a worker at the council was coerced into a clandestine errand by Mr. Ogbeche, the immediate past chairman of the NUJ FCT Council to bring all document of Aspirants to enable him file claims and Objections.

This act, reportedly executed in connivance with Elizabeth Atte, secretary of the credentials committee, aimed to illicitly reproduce aspirants’ credentials and defame them. This clandestine maneuver, reminiscent of machinations unbefitting a democratic process, has raised eyebrows and plunged the council into an unnecessary quagmire of distrust. Mr Ifeanyi was also approached by Emeka Nze and Johnchuks Onuanyim

It is said, “A desperate man clutches at straws,” and this adage aptly captures the antics of Mr. Victorson Agbenson, Emeka Nze, and John Chuks.

Aligning with Mr. Ogbeche, they appear bent on bending the ethical compass to their advantage, employing backhanded tactics to undermine the integrity of fellow aspirants. By casting aspersions on their qualifications, they seek to distract the electorate from their own lackluster legacies and questionable motives.

This orchestrated smear campaign is both petty and laughable, as the aspirants under fire have categorically stated their qualifications’ authenticity and directed all inquiries to the International Institute of Journalism, the issuing authority.

This transparent approach starkly contrasts with the shadowy maneuvers of their detractors, who seem to revel in mudslinging rather than addressing pertinent issues affecting the NUJ.

To misquote documents, twist narratives, and deploy coercion is akin to erecting a house of cards on quicksand. The desperation of this faction reveals a moral bankruptcy that should alarm every right-thinking member of the union. It is not enough to declare oneself a leader; one must also exhibit the character and integrity befitting the role. Leadership, as the sage once said, is not about power but responsibility.

The NUJ community deserves an election anchored in fairness, not one tainted by backroom scheming.

Those who wield the pen must remember the weight of their responsibility: to inform, inspire, and uphold the truth.

Resorting to tactics that mirror political thuggery demeans the very ideals the union stands for.

As the elections draw near, let us remind ourselves that the measure of a candidate lies not in the quantity of mud they sling but in the quality of solutions they bring to the table. To the electorate, it is imperative to reject those who trade in division and deceit. The future of the NUJ depends on the collective resolve to uphold its core values and ensure that only those with the vision, competence, and integrity to lead ascend to office.

Indeed, “Truth crushed to earth will rise again,” and no amount of connivance can obscure the light of honesty. As we march towards this critical juncture, let the aspirants under fire stand tall, for theirs is a mandate defined by transparency and merit. To their detractors, a simple admonition: the desperation to cling to relevance is no substitute for a genuine commitment to service.

And to Mr Visiting Lecturer who has vowed to support his brother who didn’t pick the form, is he The hand of Esau ??

Ifeanyi was offered the sun if N20, 000 naira to get all documents of aspirants and he was reminded how he was picked from the gutters hence the need to do their bidding . Mrs Elizabeth was also asked to carry out the dirty job and arrived the council at 11am in company of her friend to get the copies to photocopy and give out to her paymaster.

The Aspirants involved have asked the electoral committee to write the Institution to investigate the matter with a view to bring those defaming the institution to book particularly “Mr Walk-in , Walm out who was never qualified to contest the secretary and chairman of council but was give man the style of Pharaoh let my people go “

Mr walk in – Walk out who is the mastermind of the these evil plan got his lecturer friend involved to ensure Aspirants do not scale through the screening process .

Mr Lecturer who is meant to be neutral choose to join the immediate past chairman to fight the battle and sponsor Emeka Nze to go court.

Just like the saying “Life indeed No balance !”

Mr Johnchuks who is crying foul has no IIJ certificate and has never occupied any chapel position but was asked to join Mr Ogbeche’s camp to fight his Ibo race . More details loading …..
