Wizkid’s dad speaks on Davido feud

Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats star Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun), has weighed in on the long-standing rivalry between his son and fellow artist Davido.

In an interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun revealed that he advised Wizkid to stay focused and ignore provocations from Davido’s fan base, stating that the controversies stirred by supporters are often motivated by personal gain.

“I told my son not to listen to the boys who support Davido. They are only looking for something to say in order to collect money and gain attention,” Chief Balogun explained.

He further noted that fans often create drama for their benefit and emphasized that Wizkid should rise above the distractions.

The elder Balogun has observed the rivalry play out online but stressed that it shouldn’t derail his son’s focus.

The rivalry between Wizkid and Davido has been a hot topic among fans, with both artists being regarded as titans in the Nigerian music industry.
