Ademola Lookman was notably absent from training on Saturday as the Super Eagles began preparations for their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda’s Amavubi.

The Atalanta forward suffered a knock during Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Benin Republic on Thursday, which led to his substitution late in the game for Frank Onyeka.

His availability for Monday’s encounter remains in doubt and will be determined after the team’s final training session on Sunday.

In other updates, Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has departed the Super Eagles camp following a request from his club.

Nottingham Forest sought his release to ensure his availability for their crucial Premier League match against Arsenal.

This decision was facilitated as Nigeria has already secured their AFCON qualification.

Additionally, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has left the camp to address family matters after the recent passing of his father.

The Super Eagles will look to close their qualification campaign on a positive note despite these absences.

The Super Eagles are set to host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Monday, aiming to conclude their qualification campaign on a high note.
