Akwa United names Uko as interim technical adviser

Ime Uko has been named the acting technical adviser for Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Akwa United.  

Uko takes over the role following the resignation of Mohammed Babaganaru on Monday. Previously serving as the team’s psychologist, Uko will now lead the team with Umar Abdullahi as his assistant.

The appointment was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement by Akwa United chairman, Elder Paul Bassey.

“At the moment, the team’s psychologist, Coach Ime Uko, will act as the technical adviser while the assistant coaches led by Coach Umar Abdullahi are in charge of the team until a substantive head coach is named,” Bassey said.

Akwa United currently sit in 19th place on the league table with 16 points.
