Alleged transformer vandal electrocuted in Benue

An Unidentified man has been electrocuted near Otukpo’s Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) office, which serves as the administrative centre for Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State.

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company abruptly restored power, electrocuting the suspected thief just as he had completed vandalising a transformer on a high-tension pole (JEDC).

News360 Nigeria gathered that the incident occurred late on Friday.

The lifeless body was discovered dangling from the high-tension pole on Saturday morning, with a large crowd of passersby gathered around the corpse.

As of the time of filing this report, electricity distribution officials were still retrieving the lifeless body of the suspect from the electric pole where he was suspended.

A source said, “We came this morning and found the body suspended from the electric pole at a transformer with tools in his hand.”
