Man dies while observing 19 days spiritual dry fasting in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man who passed away while observing a spiritual fast in the Alagbado area of Lagos.

The tragic incident occurred early Monday morning around 6:00 a.m.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the man had been undertaking a 19-day dry fast when he died. His younger brother reported the death to the Alagbado Police Division later that evening, around 7:00 p.m.

SP Hundeyin noted that no foul play is suspected in the man’s death. The family has requested custody of the body for burial.
